Insadong Street Souvenirs


Insadong is a dong, or neighborhood of the Jongno-gu district of the South Korean city of Seoul. If you’re planning on buying traditional goods, head to Insadong.


Some are art stuff such as Dojang or Korean Seal, Korean characters written or mirror. The main street is Insadong-gil, which is connected to a multitude of alleys that lead deeper into the district.


There are lots of other things you can find in this shopping street.  At one time it was the largest market for antiques and artworks in Korea.

The Tomb of General Nami, along with a poem engraved on a burial stone are a highlight and must-see when visiting. Although his grave wasn't discovered, there was a pile of stones where his body was supposed to be buried. It was believed that if someone took even one stone from there, it would bring misfortune to their house.
